Shelter Dog Gets Back to Full Health with New Family
Dogs who are rescued never forget the humans who saved them. We are highlighting heartwarming stories of dogs saved from dire situations and then cherished as invaluable family members. Rosey had lost almost all her hair when Melissa saw her at her local shelter. This is what she did next.
“This is the shelter’s profile picture of Rosey [photo below]. She had hardly any hair on her tail and she was skinny. We took her off commercial food and her fur instantly responded.
“The hair on her tail is over 12” long now. It was almost bald when we got her. She gets homemade food, ground turkey, basmati rice and tons of raw veggies. We also give her a Pet-Tab multi vitamin and a fish oil capsule each day.”
“Her fur feels like silk and is bright and shiny.”
“She is an amazingly polite and well behaved dog. She barks more in her sleep than when she’s awake. She loves to run like wild fire. Tug is her favorite game and she doesn’t quite get fetch.
“I wish she did cause we have a 6 acre pasture we could let her run in.”
