Sick Puppy Unable To Walk Transformed By Love
A sick puppy suffering from malnutrition so severe she couldn’t walk is back on her feet thanks to loving rescuers.
Ayla was only 2 months old when rescuers from Little Steps Matter spotted her on the streets of Bali. She was covered in mange and was so itchy that she was biting herself in pain.
She also had deformity in her front legs that made it nearly impossible for her to walk. “We really wanted to cry when we saw this poor, poor puppy,” Little Steps Matter said after they first saw Ayla.
Thankfully Ayla’s owners surrendered her and Little Steps Matter immediately took the puppy to the vet where they learned that Ayla had a terrible case of calcium and nutritional deficiency. She had even swallowed a stone to try and get calcium from somewhere!
But rescuers were amazed that over the course of a few short weeks Ayla’s legs strengthened and her fur began to grow back. “Her recovery was really amazing,” said Little Steps Matter. “It took like 5 to 6 weeks until the dog started to run.”
As she grew more healthy, Ayla began to come out of her shell befriending another rescue puppy and loving life.
Her rescuers found the nicest home for her. Ayla now gets so spoiled by her new family. Little Steps Matter said that it is truly amazing how the little pup opened up after so much neglect and suffering. They added, “She is such a sweetheart…and trusts and loves and has so much love to give.”
