Stray Golden Retriever in the Worst Shape is So Excited to Meet Rescuer’s Family

Kelsey had never seen a Golden Retriever in such a bad state. But when she met Birdie, the dog came right up to her so she immediately decided to take Birdie home. Very skinny and mange-ridden, Birdie was a wreck. “She was clearly dumped or got loose but no one looked for her,” said Kelsey.

Despite being in such terrible shape Birdie was so friendly and excited to meet Kelsey’s family. She wagged her tail the moment she saw Kelsey’s daughter and showed off her goofy personality after getting a bath.
Birdie went into quarantine for two weeks to get over her infectious mange and after that they let her come inside. Birdie might never have been inside a house before but she was so happy she didn’t know what to do with herself!

Kelsey couldn’t keep Birdie because she regularly rescues dogs in Guam and rehomes them through Bonnie Flight Project and Guam Animals In Need. But Birdie continued to learn and explore with Kelsey’s family for a month and a half before a couple fell in love with her and adopted her!

Kelsey just felt so good that she stopped and rescued Birdie. And seeing Birdie now, we are delighted she stopped too!
