After Being Chained On Roof for Two Years, Small Senior Dog Finds Wonderful Home
Two senior dog who called a roof top in Mexico City “home” have gotten a brand new beginning. For two years, Terry and his sibling lived a miserable existence. They were chained up, their fur was badly unkempt and matted, and they never left the roof.
A concerned neighbor finally got the dogs help by complainingto the Mexican authorities and the dogs were freed and rescued by Silvia at La Casa del Mestizo.
Other than their bad fur, the two dogs were pretty healthy and soon they were ready to find new homes. Terry’s brother was adopted quickly and went to live in Montreal, Canada. Terry had to wait a little longer, seven months to be exact. But with the help of West Coast Paws in Vancouver, Canada, he got noticed by Lee and Danny.
The couple saw his photo on West Coast Paws website and something about him touched their hearts. They reached out to offer Terry a home and with the help of some volunteers, Terry soon embarked on his freedom ride. He travelled to Seattle where he was picked up by Lee and Danny, who brought him home to Canada.
Since arriving in Vancouver, Terry (now Teddy) is wholeheartedly embracing his second chance. He is not only very curious, he’s a social butterfly and simply loves life. Teddy’s previous life is a far cry from where he is now, that’s for sure. It goes to show that new beginnings are possible for everyone with a bit of luck, lots of hard work, and someone caring enough to make a difference.
West Coast Paws is currently helping to raise funds to help Silvia keep La Casa del Mestizo shelter open.
