Starving Stray Dog Begs Kids For Help. Now She’s Searching For A Forever Home

Meet Hope. This small Pit Bull was found as a stray in a park, begging children for help. She was severely emaciated and rescuers at SGT Canines believed she hadn’t eaten properly in at least 12 weeks. Some veterinarians even thought she was too far gone and recommended putting her to sleep.

But SGT Canines discovered the reason for Hope’s declining health – she had a corn in the cob lodged in her colon that prevented her from eating and was making her sick!

Hope underwent intensive surgery to remove the blockage and immediately afterward, her appetite came roaring back. That’s also when her playful, funny personality began to shine.

Gianni, who initially fostered Hope, noticed how much Hope loves being pampered. She quickly got fussy about her food asking “Where’s my Nutri Cal?” and turning her nose up at anything other than organic blackberries. After several weeks with Gianni she went to another foster home. Her current foster mom says that Hope just needs time and patience to trust you. But once you do it’s incredibly rewarding.

Hope is now looking for a forever family. To apply to adopt Hope visit the SGT Canines website.
