Stray Aussie Shepherd Mix Missing an Ear Visits Man’s House Daily For Food

A stray dog found out in the desert in California’s Coachella Valley may soon be looking for a home. The Animal Rescue Center of California (ARC) received a call from Jorge about a stray dog who showed up and began sitting outside the fence on his ranch.

ARC couldn’t take the dog right away because they can only rescue as fast as they can find a foster. So, Jorge fed the dog for two weeks until ARC came by to pick him up.

With the temperatures hitting 119 Fahrenheit (48 degrees), it was important that they get the dog inside as soon as possible. Thankfully, a friend of ARC’s agreed to house the dog in a stall while they looked for a foster. And, with help from Rescue Lyfe, River, as the dog is now called, found a foster home where he is now being cared for. Not only that, but River got a bath and probably his first ever groom, which you can see in the video below. He looks so different from when he was first found!

ARC says that if they can find River’s owners within 5 days, he’ll be placed for adoption. You can visit The Animal Rescue Center of California for details.
