Friendly Stray Dog Keeps Giving Her Paw To Rescuers Who Find Her
A very large, very gentle and very loyal stray dog won the hearts of her rescuers when they found her. The Romanian animal rescue group Ray Animal Rescue went to get Elsa from the side of the road. The dog ran right up to them wagging her tail.
Raisa Giulia of Ray Animal Rescue said Elsa immediately struck her as “half bear, half dog” but not only did Elsa keep lifting her paw up to be held she was looking after a little dog too. Elsa had her pal, Hugo, with her. Hugo stuck by Elsa’s side and obviously saw Elsa as his protector and friend too so there was no way they were going to heave him behind.
Hugo got adopted very quickly but Elsa went into foster care because she was covered in mites and needed special medicated baths for two months to heal her skin. The other dogs Raisa was looking after didn’t get along with Elsa because of her size so she began to look for a foster family.
Andreea saw photos of Elsa and hesitated fostering her at first when she saw Elsa’s size. But something drew her to the large dog and she agreed to foster Elsa for a few days of the Christmas holidays.
When some potential adopters came to see Elsa, Andreea was upset because she realized that she had grown attached to Elsa. When they couldn’t take Elsa, Andreea was relieved and realized she had to keep her! Six months after her rescue, Elsa is unrecognizable. Not only has her fur grown back but she loves her life with her new family!
