Stray German Shepherd with Wounded Leg Visits Man’s Front Door At Night

A stray German Shepherd with a wounded leg was rescued from the desert heat thanks to a dog-loving home owner and animal rescuers. Shawn who lives in Yucca, California, saw the wounded dog on his front porch Ring camera who would show up at night. He tried to befriend him, but the shepherd wouldn’t let him get close. So Shawn left out water and food for the stray.

Shawn then reached out to The Animal Rescue Center Of California for help. They brought out a trap and put it on the front porch. Shawn got the dog used to it and put the food in the trap until he was trapped.

Cali from Rescue Lyfe found a foster for the German Shepherd and transported him to the hospital. “Hunter” as they named him had bite wounds on his leg that had become badly infected. They gave him lots of antibiotics to save the leg. While he healed he made himself at home with his foster mom Lauryl.

Hunter quickly bonded with Lauryl and she with him, so much so that he became a foster fail! The Animal Rescue Center Of California was delighted at the outcome. To help support their rescue efforts visit their website.
