Sweet Corgi Lovingly Keeps Watch Over Newborn Baby
Wilbur the Corgi is a super friendly dog and recently he met his new 3-week-old baby sister, Claire. His dad, Chris Lowe, lives with his family in San Francisco and told DogHeirs, “We got Wilbur when he was ten weeks old and he’s a little over four years old now. He’s a super friendly dog, and always tries to snuggle up with my wife Miriam or I when we’re sitting on the floor.”
“When we found out we were expecting Claire, we knew Wilbur would probably be fine but we were naturally apprehensive. We didn’t know how Wilbur would handle not being the only object of our affection, you know?”
Baby Claire arrived in late November and Chris said that when she was introduced to Wilbur “they ended up hitting it off great!”
“We kept a tight grip in his collar when he first met her, but all he wanted to do was sniff her,” said Chris. “I think he was really more interested in her soft blankie than anything else really.”
Chris added, “So now they’re best friends really. We never leave him alone with her, just in case, but he follows us wherever we carry her throughout the house, he gives us concerned and slightly annoyed looks when she cries, and we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out!”
“Back from hospital…first meet and greet.”
“Keeping her company during tummy time.”
“He’s started sleeping in her room now…”
“Waiting for her to wake up.”
“The tube is for her bili blanket. (She had mild jaundice).”
“It’s all good, but Wilbur and his big fat butt (see below) are gonna have to learn the concept of ‘personal space’ at some point.”
With Wilbur’s newfound devotion, this pair are destined to be best friends forever, don’t you think?
