How To Make Valentine’s Pupcakes For Your Dogs

If you’re looking for a fun Valentine’s Day recipe for your pup, try these red velvet pupcakes. Gone to the Snow Dogs shows how they are made and says this recipe was submitted by a fan. For this homemade treat, you’ll need the following ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup canola oil
  • 1 cup applesauce
  • 1/3 cup beet puree or fresh beet juice
  • 1 and 1/2 cups whole-wheat flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 cup of vanilla melting discs (optional)

Preheat your oven to 350 Fahrenheit (176 Celcius). Whisk together oil, applesauce, and beets. Then whisk together flour and baking powder. Slowly mix the dry ingredients with the wet. Consistency should be like cake batter.

Spoon into muffin pans or silicone molds to about 2/3rds full. Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes.

You’ll know they are baked fully when a toothpick stuck in the middle comes out clean.

You can add frosting if you think your pup will like (it’s optional)! Simply melt the discs and add on top of the pupcakes and let cool.
